Camp Pineshore Cell Phone Policy

At Camp Pineshore, we spend our time studying God’s word and participating in camp activities together.  In order to allow for full attention and engagement in these activities, we expect all campers to keep their cell phones stored away and out of use for the day.

If a camper does need to get in contact with a parent, they should speak with a counselor or the camp director about that need.  If a parent needs to get in contact with their child, the call should be placed to the camp director.

If a camper has a medical reason for keeping that phone in their possession during the day, parents and campers should speak with the camp director prior to the beginning of camp. Exceptions to the cell phone policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We understand that campers may feel homesick or lonely, especially at the beginning of the camp week.  Campers are encouraged to talk with their counselors of the camp director about their feelings and emotions.  We strive to make every camper feel welcome and included in the camp experience and these feelings of homesickness usually go away quickly.

Overnight campers will have access to their phones briefly at night and briefly before our day starts.  We expect that cell phone use will be appropriate and we will contact parents immediately if we find any inappropriate uses of cell phones.
